Understaffed Epic Hires Competition To Promote New Releases

Sean_kingston Is this what it has come to?

Lacking a proper Hip Hop/R&B promo team Epic shunned the indie promo and marketing community and hired competing hip hop label Koch to promote two new releases by Sean Kingston (pictured at the right and currently at #1)and Yung Berg.

Epic calls it smart outsourcing and I'm all for that.  But if I were the acts I'd be making a direct deal with Koch pronto.

In the new music business, if your label is not your marketer; what is it good for?
