SpiralFrog Finally Enters Beta To Mixed Reviews

Spiralfrog_2 In 2006 ad supported download site was a media darling. Months later it looked dead before arrival as keys execs departed and launch dates were moved. But in the last few days SpiralFrog has leaped back into life entering limited beta testing.

UniversalWith Universal the only major label to sign on so far, the service is launching with about 700,000 tracks. Downloads take about 90 seconds and during that time users will see a range of ads. SpiralFrog users can play songs on their PCs or any Windows Media-compatible player according to the company.

Beta testers are offering mixed reviews so far. Marketing Watch couldn't get songs to download. Digital Journal offered the most detailed report and generally liked service. Silicon Alley Insider couldn't find much nice to say about the beta or the concept.
