Only 3.5% of US consumers accessed a social networking site via their mobile phone in a recent M:Metric survey. Of course that's 7.5 million potential fans. Western European numbers were similar.
MySpace and Facebook led usage with YouTube and the UK's Bebo next. Numbers will likely grow as networks and phones improve and unique services designed for mobile use proliferate.
