WMG Sends Mixed MP3 Message

  • Anywherecd_2 First AnywhereCD (run by by the founder of mp3.com Micheal Robertson) started selling a CD/mp3 combo that promises "no restrictions" including some by big name Warner Music Group artists
  • Then WMG cried foul saying the site had violated and agreement it had made with them.  (Who Wmg_2 knew that WMG was making agreements that could even be interpreted as allowing unprotected sales?  We'd love to see a copy. Hint. Hint.)
  • Next WMG said it was OK for AnywhereCD to offer a service to "let" (aka "help") CD buyers rip unprotected mp3's
  • Early this morning, CDAnywhere was still selling the CD/mp3 combos of WMG and WMG distributed producted.
  • As of this moment, we're confused.
